Re: Cannon Camberley 10101G Lid Springs

Thank you. By Googling the details you provided I have traced a stockist that claims to have them in stock, but I will give them a call before believing that.

Do you have a link to an exploded diagram that shows the construction of the hinges, which will help me determine the replacement method?

    Many thanks

Re: Proline Chest Freeezer Temperature Problem

Researching a replacement (although I haven’t given up on repair/recharging yet) I have been looking at the Bosch GTA 37902, which is so similar in design (apart from much thicker insulation) and the baskets are identical, that my Proline may well be a Bosch (?).

I have been reading all the threads here relating to garage/shed placement, but cannot find a reference on the Bosch site to the ambient requirement of this freezer.

Given that the existing one has lasted 16 years sitting on a pallet in my attached garage, which does get down to 5degC at times, can I expect a similar performance from the new model, or is whatever modern refrigerant is used now (I assume R12 is superseded) a factor?

Sorry – for cu.ft. read litres – can’t get the hang of this metric stuff!

Re: Proline Chest Freeezer Temperature Problem

Thanks – there is a point in the copper piping near the compressor which reminds me of leaks occurring in water pipes, i.e. an excrescence and verdigris, and which might be a gas leak. I can’t smell anything, should I? It could be easy to repair (by someone who knows) but is R12 still legal?

If we get an expert who condemns it, are there any suggestions for a 360cu.ft. (net) chest freezer that will be happy in a cool garage and will last another 16 years! (or at least what to avoid).
