So far so good, I have got a multi-meter tester for £10 and tested out thermostat’s and the NTC thermistor I think that’s what it’s called, which was on top of the heating duct.. did not read well, so luckily the 20 year old broken AEG 16800 Oko W/Dryer was still near the bin and managed to swap the bit, and now it’s working! will see.

Hi Dave, you are right, I was looking at some old suggestion where they mention wires actually outside not inside, pls see below:

Hi KwatThanks for your answer. Luckily I think I have solved the problem further examination revealed what appeared to be a thermostat slotted into a rubber pipe which strangely only had one wire attached to it. My limited knowledge goes far enough to realise that two wires are required for a circuit so rummaging around the jumble df wires in the bottom of the machine I was able to locate the missing wire. The wire was much shorter than perhaps it should be and connected to the thermostat terminals with a zif connection (not reliable in my opinion ). After some fiddling I was able to restore the connection and everything is now working fine.
Cheers

Ok, I had to press and hold some buttons to get a Error code and (E73) came up, a possible issue with sensor on the heating duct..
I’ll have to get someone with a multimeter because I haven’t a clue how it works!Jo77

Just checked this hose with attached sensor and yellow wires outside but no wires inside like other thread described for Aeg L16850.
I’ve cleaned up the condenser, now it seems to heat up but 20min later just goes to 0. No fault code! a bit frustrating..Jo77
