ParticipantGreat, thank you. Do you happen to know if that is essentially an upgraded version of the 5750093 or 5750094 ? it looks very similar, perhaps the xx5 is just a very slightly tweaked version, and it the older xx3 / xx4 versions would be backward compatible?

ParticipantFair point. It’s always a trade-off. This thing annoys me daily. (just like the bloke in the YouTube clip with his kettle).
I can’t find a way to the PCB though… do you know where it sits?July 13, 2021 at 1:36 pm in reply to: Miele KDN9713iD fridge freezer: is there a way of disabling that pesky door alarm?! #477835john_123
ParticipantThis chap is right on the money! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNZ-w5XYVZ8&t=27s. He is as annoyed (or more) than i am at his beeping kettle, and has just the idea i have about ripping out the piezo. The question is – how do i reach the circuit board of the KDN 9713 iD? Where is it hiding and can i get at it without taking the whole fridge out of its setting?

ParticipantThanks Tony, It is incredibly annoying. Anyone who has the pleasure of sharing my kitchen, within a few hours of being in there, either grumbles or eye rolls at having to reach up and press the ‘off’ button after 1minute. Surely Miele have had complaints about it ? I’m dismayed it didn’t get flagged during product testing. Possibly even more irritating is the actual dysfunctionality of it. The door has to be WIDE OPEN for it sound…yet if it is simply left ajar (surely the precise situation for which the alarm was designed?) the bloody thing doesn’t sound. So for all the daily irritation, it doesn’t even serve its function!
I simply refuse to believe there isn’t a way of removing it…there just has to be. -
