Steven,
I have all the relevent numbers and contacts, unfortunately, accounts deal with invoices, SINs and SRNs, and warehouse deal with the returns. What do you do about continued collection promises, even issuing me with a UK Mail collections number, and the goods are still here?. I have stated the staff all try their best, but something is always going wrong and no plausible explanation is given. Initially we were doing masses of work for them, but the problem is my business does not operate on promises, and my creditors are getting sick of the same old story ” Cheque is in the post”. We are willing and able to cope with any amount of work JTM throw at us, but I am not willing to be messed around month after month to get a correct payment. We work for several other V large work providers and no problems of this kind ever cropping up. If there is an issue, it is dealt with efficiently and promply the same time on the phone. If JTM could give some form of undertaking regarding all these issues, then we would gladly carry out their work.JohnS.1

Mikeday is right, but the problem me thinks is there is some form of dislocation between the departments, especially account and spares, who never seem to get things to connect. Another day and another broken promise regarding the collection of return parts. This time I was given a collection number too…the saga continues chaps. :rolls:

Forgot, received an invoice today for £140 odd pounds, for LG fridge freezer part, which was replaced by the retailer about 4 weeks ago…It never ends, less money again and more telephone calls….hahaha

K, I can assure you the service offered to JTM and the quantities of completed jobs, if it had been any other company they would have been over the moon, but unfortunatly all the effort we put in and all the hours I may add, counted for absolutely nothing, and that is what we ended up with a the end of the month. As pointed out by several engineers you will need to spend a very long time and endless telephone calls trying to get the correct amount. The best way forward is for JTM to contact the engineers involved in disputes and try to resolve any issues, but its a one way street with them. Do you guys think it may be something to do with growing too fast too quickly? which ultimately leads to mistakes.

Its a frightening thought that working for such companies can make you or more likely break you. Most of us have been through the work routine with the manufacturers and I know ( after 40 years of it) how difficult it is to run your own business. But at the same time we offer our services to these people, work to build up a decent business, be prompt and reliable only to have your hard earned cash witheld every month because they open the purse first, pay their bill and we get whats left over, eventualy after a fight. Not right. JTM need to understand that we have expenses every month, and as in our case the work has been completed parts fitted and the best thing they can do is get the invoicing and parts right and make correct payments on time. and not have to waste precious time chasing and calling everyday. Not too much to ask me thinks.

My sentiments completely, wasting our fuel, working sometimes 7 days a week to complete the jobs, engineers chasing those fantastic Haier,Servis machines….LOL. Any business does not run on fresh air, but I think JTM management are too busy raking it in from the huge mark up on spares ( which we get charged for) and their work providers, and treat all their engineers to a back seat. As I said the staff are all prety good chasing things up, but when it comes to spares collections and cheque sighning thats a different ball game. Whilst I am on a roll, LG wrote a washing machine off BER. a scrapper, we delivered it back to the reatailer because they replaced it on behalf of LG. Low and behold an invoice arrived from JTM to us for £500. When asked why, the reply was you took too long to return it to the retailer and we had to pay for it ( Cost passed on to the mug engineer). I am now fuming thinking about it. I shall mark this down to experience, and pass on my recommendation regarding JTM at every chance.

I am going to contact channel four to make a movie. Please follow carefully.
70 completed jobs @ average £35.00 = £2450 plus spares supplied
The above is for one month
telephoned for amount owing to us less spares supplied
Yes, you have £2450 cheque in the post to you
Cheque arrives 2 weeks later for £240
Phone call: Why £240?
reply: we deducted spares
But we used the spares and the amounts are on the invoice along with the ref numbers, so what about the labour @ £35.00 X 70?
Errrr I dont know!
Repeat the above mathematics again
Reply: erm I dont know whats gone wrong
I will send you copies just in case you missed some invoices
copies sent
Phone call: We have an amended amont of £2200 less parts
What parts?
The current parts you have
But I requested you collect and credit the parts 2 weeks ago.
Gents the story goes on and the parts are still here waiting for collection after several promises.
Amount for parts deducted from cheque.
Another 45 days wait! Total frustration!!!
This happened every month.
I believe its not the staff, but the management who have a complete disregard to the guys out in the field making them money.
I now refuse to work for them, and have other more reliable and regular payers on our books.
Dont touch them with a bargepole. You have been warned.
No slander intended, just my experience.JohnS.1

Thanks guys, the positions have been filled. As for expertcats comments, no comment. There are engineers out ther expert that want to work, and at the £30 per job rate, and @ 7-10 jobs per day, in my books that equates to a pretty decent income in this financial turmoil!
