I removed the motor and then metered the pins on the connector. Pins 1,2 3 had about 2 ohms between each of them, which did not vary when spinning the motor shaft. Pins 4 and 5 varied from 2 ohm to 1 ohm and pins 6,7 varied from 23 ohms to 1 ohm when the motor shaft was spun. Pin 8 did not seem to be connected to anything?
I also checked the motor brushes whilst I had the unit out and although they are worn, there is still about 2 cm of carbon rod on each brush.
From this I can only deduce that the varying readings are the tacho and the commutator, as the motor shaft is spun and all would seem to be good in that there is some variation.
I guess this only leaves the control board which of course is fully electronic and very costly ( £250+)
Unless anyone else can suggest something, I thinks it time for a new machine as the board cost is at least 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the cost of a new one.September 4, 2010 at 7:34 pm in reply to: Bosch Logixx 1400 WFR2866 Water Tap Closed Message #329454jonherd

I have metered out the flow switch and get some funny readings. It appears to have 3 contacts on the connection plug, so I assume its some sort of micro-switch with a NO/NC/COM contact arrangement. I get continuity through two of the terminals and not the other, which I assume would be correct. The switch appears to allow air ( me blowing through it ) and the impeller inside moves around and is not jammed. When I meter this switch in normal operation with power on, I measure 240V AC on all three pins of the plug, so am a little confused as to what a real reading should be if the switch was working normally. I want to be sure that its defective before fitting a new one, as they cost over £20. Has anyone got a circuit diagram of the flow through sensor area of the machine or know how its is supposed to work please ?

Have tried to meter the output of the motor tacho but access to it very difficult. Can I tilt the machine on its side and access via the bottom panel. Do I have to lock the drum when doing this ?
I have never removed a motor befoe so not sue he best way to attack this – any help appreciatedjonherd

Yes the spin appears to be replacing what would be the wash movement of the drum. Spin lasts about 30 secs and is approx 800 – 1000 RPM ( guess work here !) . Drum stops then more water loads and drum then spins in opposite direction.
I will check the motor tacho tomorrow – can I get at this from the front or do I have to remove the motor asm from the rear of the machine
