    Re: Smeg SE335SS-5 Thermostat Replacement

Just wanted to post a quick ‘Thankyou’ to Penguin45 and Geoff1 for their help and avice.

Ordered the part that Penguin45 suggested from UK White Goods, which arrived today, fitted it in 10 mins and the wife now has a fully functioning oven again.

    Thanks Again

    Re: Smeg SE335SS-5 Thermostat Replacement

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ll check the element tonight when I get in to see if it looks damaged. The red Neon light does still come on when I turn the oven setting on, so that does support your response as well.

Looks like i’ll be placing an order for the part that Penguin45 highlighted in his post.

    Thanks

    Re: Smeg SE335SS-5 Thermostat Replacement

Many Thanks for your reply. One more question though….

If it is the element rather than the thermostat, would that have caused the RCD in the main fuse box to trip as this is what happened and from reading other posts on here pointed me in the direction of the thermostat.

Not questioning your judgement at all, just want to make sure you had all the information available as i forgot to mention that in my first post.

    Thanks
