Thanks, I saw that Martin but that doesn’t help with the riveted bracket which is the issue with my dryer. Did you look a the pictures? You can see the hole the rivet grasps is worn and widened.

Re: Ariston LSI61 not able to select wash cycle

I hate reviving old threads, but noticed I hadn’t updated this one at the time. Hate it when that happens.

Basically I couldn’t get the controls out of diagnostic mode. I powered off at the mains, and tried holding buttons down (or not holding buttons down) in various suggested ways, all to no avail, so I gave up.

A couple of days later, as I’m googling for a new dishwasher, I fancied a cup of tea, and distinctly heard the dishwasher washing dishes.
SWMBO had filled and run it without thinking, and had NO PROBLEMS selecting the program to run. Go figure.

All I can think is that it was wet/damp and needed a some ‘alone time’ to dry itself out.

I got back in touch with Nigel at GT Electrical, and ordered a replacement detergent dispenser as I figure the machine has earned it. It’s been working happily ever since (6 months now). 😀

Excellent kwatt. I’ve wondered for ages which way it went. I may also have detected the cause of said systme failure. It’s in my garage.
I didn’t think it relevant until browsing the rest of the forum. It will be well outside its climate range, and its also quite damp in there when the car parks up covered in snow.

I guess I need look into keeping a 3rd fridge freezer in the house somewhere (not bragging, got a teeny tiny fridge in the kitchen and a US style in the utility). This was a beer and bread FF only.

Or am I jumping to conclusions?
