ParticipantRe: Grundig D/Washer stuck in Demo Mode
Hi 🙂
I thought I would come back and let you know the outcome of this problem and our dishwasher. I managed to speak to someone in Customer Service for Grundig who checked his tech manual and found nothing, spoke to some other department and they could find nothing either. Anyway he suggested I unplug the appliance to then leave for about 2 hours to allow the circuit boards to drain of power. So I did and then turn on and hold the reset button for 10 seconds. I done this and waited all excited like thinking it be the cure, guess what nothing! Tiddled off to say the least as hope would sort it, but being the weekend could do nothing till Monday and an engineer be sent. Though I had thought well if the manuals not show anything then what else could he do.
So feeling bit deflated but didn’t give up! Each time I went into the kitchen I turned it on pressing a combination of buttons living in hope.
The last time of trying Saturday night I turned switch on at wall thinking I am gonna beat it to this ‘Welcome’ and then telling me ‘Demo Mode’. I quickly pressed and held the power button. The display said welcome, I thought keep holding Dave! Then it done a countdown to turning off. Different I thought so delicately pressed the power button expecting it to bleep and spring into demo mode and it didn’t! I pressed a wash program option and it worked! Excited I called the wife and the machine seemed to be working! I put it on for a rinse to see what happens, short and to it program to see if it gonna do it or not and it did!
So I said well ##** me! Looks like I cracked it! Turn on the power at the wall, quickly press and hold the on/off button and hold a good 5 seconds. Then it should go from Welcome to turning off 1,2,3 and then be able to turn back on.
The machine has been fine since this, washes as it should do and we got full functional properties of the machine again and lovely clean dishes!
Huge sigh of relief to say the least as was thinking well if engineer comes out and it not in any manuals what can do they do sort of thing. Would it mean a new machine or whatever. The mind was rambling to allsorts, bit like my typing does here!
So if anyone has a Grundig like ours or one of the similar sensor touch models and the same happens Demo Mode comes on try turning it on and quickly pressing and holding the power button. Am not saying it will work but it certainly did for us!
I am tempted to email Grundig and tell them what I did and what worked but then do think surely somewhere it be listed about this demo mode and how to get in and out of it!
So thanks for all that have read and also offered advice. I hope my solution tip may help someone else if they have it happen to them.
No more washing up by hand. The house is back to its usual heaven like status! 😀

K.
Many thanks for looking, I have drawn a blank on it all so far. I checked Grundig and all I got was download of manual we already got which mentions nothing. I know sometimes it can be something like holding this button and that button for so long to sort but tried things like holding cancel reset etc to no avail.
Was bad enough when was delivered as was all in German the menu so had to work out how to get to English so bit of guessing on some of the words till got it!
Looks like gonna be a weekend of washing up the old way! Trip back to the old days till can sort!
Thanks for having a look.Dave 🙂
