Hi Spimps,firstly I apologise for my poor descriptions.
The fan I am talking about is bolted to the bottom /rear of the cabinet and faces away from what I call the compresser or motor ( a large black cylinder).Although it faces away it would circulate quite a lot of air around the motor. You are quite correct in thinking that perhaps I have connected the fan incorrectly.
Three terminals , positive,negative and earth how difficult can it be ? lol
Still bet your life I have managed it wrong.
I know you cannot give advice on electrical connections ,but basically
the spade connections on the neg and earth connection connected to the only place they would reach on the terminal connections of the commpressor.The third (live) connection didnt have a spade and I connected it to an unused live terminal on the compressor.
I am not sure I am making it very clear, but I was fairly cofident that they were the right connections at the time i made them.
Never the less the fan never kicked in even though I know it works when connected to an external power supply. -
