Thanks to all & forgive my ignorance. On encountering the single hob – which looks like memorabilia from a desert Monty campaign – I thought there might be something more modern and safer on the market. But there obviously isn’t. We’ve decided to swap a multiple electric hob for a (certified & fitted) gas one – it will fit in the same space.

Yep, are there any certified gas engineers on this forum please?

I need some more advice here.

    Thanks again.

Thanks. Is that mains or gaz please? We just want a hob for the gas supply – like a gas cooker in miniature 😉

    Yes, thanks but:-

Is there a safe version of this single hob please – even if it has to be fitted by a certified gas engineer?

We need a gas back-up for when the lights – & everything else – goes out 😮

Thanks, that what I thought when I saw it. Apparently it was here when the current owners moved in – this part of the UK has power cuts every now and then.

Is there a safe version of this single hob please – even if it has to be fitted by a certified gas engineer?

    😉
