ParticipantRe: Replacing AEG PNC 944 185 295 oven timer
Thanks for all the comments so far. The lip sits behind the glass, in between the glass and back plate. I’ve attached a photo of the facia and a side shot where you might be able to see that the glass appears “stuck” onto the back plate. Still no idea how to separate them! I’ve got to be careful as I don’t want to crack the glass. May be the steel facia somehow “pops” off the glass to reveal something…?
Any more thoughts would be much appreciated.
ThanksKTM

Thanks very much for responding Martin. Do you know how the trim comes off or what holds the glass facia to the metal back plate? I can’t see how it is held together – no screws or clips are visible. As I said in my first post it looks like it’s glued!

Hi,
I’ve had another look and I just cant see how this timer is going to come out of the back of the mounting plate. The lip on the front of the timer face runs all the way round and stops it being pulled out through the back of the mounting plate. The whole is just not big enough to bring the timer and its lip out backwards. Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply Martin. I’ll have another look but it appeared the lip of the timer front is sat in-between the back plate and the facia as though you had to separate the two and pull the timer out of the front. I know the plastic spring clips you’re talking about but I couldn’t pull it out the back. I’ll have another look tomorrow…
