yes it did work, was a bit fiddly for me as I am a desk jockey now but with a little bit of perspiration and some perseverance the replacement of the heating part of the evaporator worked.

does the new heater fix to the evaporator with the same lugs or will I need some plastic ties. how can I order the part from you

Bryan,
Just the new heater is removed and fitted? can that be done while it is still mounted in the freezer or do I need to pry it from the back of the wall?

Bryan,
The buyspares item is incorrectly described then? the part you noted is the evaporator assembly.
How easy is this to fit? it would appear that it is connected to the pipework at the back of the fridge will i need to cut or solder anything?Larry May

The part on buyspares is 5045-1721-4757-8
Defrost Heater

Sticks to the rear of the plastic cover to the left of the fan as you look at.Larry May

Thanks Bryan,
The only things I disconnected were on the left hand side of the evaporator as you look at it.

Do I get to it by removing the panel in the freezer compartment? I have removed this panel to fit the defrost heater but cannot see it. is it at the top of the bottom, can I trace it from the plug at the top right of the freezer area?
