ParticipantIt is indeed because on my own it would have been impossible.

ParticipantDave,
That’s it finished and working! Many, many thanks for all your help and knowledge, I simply could not have done that on my own. And thanks to uk whitegoods.
With best wishes
Dave.

ParticipantYes, if I turn the knob to ‘wool’ it turns the machine off so it is 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} further along. I’ll take the pcb off again and try to see what I have done wrong!

ParticipantDave,
I have soldered in the new piece, I don’t think too good a job unfortunately, now when the power is back on all the programs are mixed up. I think perhaps a new machine is now required.

ParticipantHopefully I will get the chip towards the end of the coming week. I’ll let you know how the repair goes.
In the mean time, once again, thank you for all your help.Dave

ParticipantI get a reading of 384 one way and initially a multitude of readings the other steadying to 1.

ParticipantThe diode, just below tyn276 and numbered D1, gives a fluctuating reading up to 19 then settles back to 1, thats on a resistance setting of 20k. I can’t get a reading from tyn276, but I’m not quite sure which two contacts to use.
Where can I buy such a diode? Many thanks for all your help, Dave, it is very much appreciated indeed.

ParticipantDave,
I’m having the greatest difficulty uploading a photo to this site. I’ll keep trying.

ParticipantThere appears to be 5 of these components, small black boxes, 4 of them numbered G5lA-1 and 1 numbered HF33F but none with the prefix that you mentioned. If these are the power chips can I somehow test them with a multi meter?

ParticipantI have the board off and it looks somewhat daunting! The only 7 leg chip that I can see is numbered j10 with the letters OP at the side of it. This is to the extreme left of the board away from what I assume is the mains power input. I’m not at all sure if this is the one you mentioned.

ParticipantI’ll have a bash at it, Dave, it’s all I can do. I may get in touch with you tomorrow if thats okay.

ParticipantThanks, Dave. Tomorrow I am going to take out the board to see if I can see anything that is obviously at fault but for me it will be like shooting in the dark, but I’ve nothing to loose. I hate consigning this to the scrap heap because we have looked after this machine and it’s still in beautiful condition.
If you feel you can help further then I will be very grateful indeed.

ParticipantNo it doesn’t come back automatically. We can switch it to drain but that’s all. We have tried different wash cycles but it stops and blacks out between 8 and 20 minutes.
I can’t even find another PCB apart from Amazon and their price is £216. We will be better buying a new machine at that price.Thank you for taking time to help and advise.
Dave.
