Well chaps, that stint I did in the Moscow state circus came in handy!! There it was trying to hide from me all the time, behind my third eye! This is the actual part I sent back cos I couldn’t find it in the first place…Fool! Fingers crossed this is the culprit, many thanks for your help and if i’ts not, you’ll find this dryer on Ebay within a week!

Your’e right about hard to find.
According to this diagram http://www.letsfixit.co.uk/html/tumble_dryer_faq.html
it is situated to the right hand side infront of the drum. But doesn’t seem to be in that position in this unit! I have had the side off, the front vent and top, but cannot see or trace back to a thermostat?? Tracing the heater element just takes me to block connectors. Marvellous!
