    Hello,

I have fitted the brush and the drier switches off correctly. The only problem is that it now squeaks when the drum rotates. I presume this is the brush rubbing? Will this stop once the brush beds in? If so, how long will that take? Is there anything I can do to stop the noise?

    Thanks again.

    power off before investigating

Hello again. Looking at my post, I don’t think I made a couple of things quite clear: when we had a problem before, the drum turned one revolution and then switched off. The problem we have now is that the drum turns for several minutes before switching off, so it doesn’t seem quite the same problem as before.

When we had the first problem, the engineer showed us the brushes and said to clean them with a wire brush. But that was six years ago and now I’ve opened the top I can’t quite remember. There is a brush on the top of the drum, but are there any others? If so, where and how do I get to them? It looks as if it’s not so easy to remove any other panels?

I thought he flicked the brush off, but it seemed screwed in. Do I clean the brush and if so, how do I remove it, or do I clean the strip it makes contact with instead? The strip does have a darker ring where the brush has made contact with it.

But now for the main part: the brush is missing! There is a spring going down towards the drum, but it doesn’t qite touch the strip. I’m guessing this is the problem? Is there supposed to be a bit of graphite between the spring and the drum?

If so, is there a part number I can order. I presume that because the brush is not making contact the sensor can not tell when to switch of the machine. What puzzles me is why it runs so long rather than switch off immediately? Does it perhaps run on a timer before it measures fromthe sensor?

    Thanks.
