    Martin,
I have just checked the dampers as suggested and noted that; the drum unit is misaligned from the centaral axis, being twisted towards the back left hand corner (looking from the front), and when pushing down on the concrete block there is slight resistance but the whole drum unit seems very wobbly/ unstable in all directions. I can reach down the side of the drum unit and feel the RH damper (looking from the front) which was coated in grease, there is no room to reach the LH damper as the powder hopper is in the way. Where are the rubber mounts fitted and can these be inspected too? Also of note is there is a lot of carbon dust on all of the surfaces within the shell of the M/C. I hope you can diagnose the state of my ole faithful M/C from these symptoms.
    Thanks again.

    Martin,
Thanks for the speedy reply. I will take the top off and check the dampers as suggested. I will let you know how I get on. I have spoken to the electrical repair shop and they can get the dampers, the chap who works in there is well up to speed so he knows what damper may be required
    Many thanks again.
