Hello Penguin. Thanks for that information. Yes, I’ve seen the lower PCB, during the occasions of taking the touch pad off, and seeing what was under it. Edt 08:39:18 While thinking that replacing such a part would not cost so much, if ‘realistically’ priced, knowing the totally ‘throw-away’ mentality of electronic components these days, about £09.75 is all it would be worth – I’m interested as to what particular part of that PCB would have failed, as in resistor, transistor, integrated circuit or diode – with a view to replacing just that ‘bit’. Edt 08:40:19 I have a soldering iron here, with some (limited [to date]) experience with taking out as well as, putting in such individual electronic parts.
So if you have an idea as to what part of that PCB had failed, would you let me know, please?
Otherwise, what scope is there for getting a new PCB from some Australian supplier?
I know what I DON’T want to hear from anyone, is that “The Board has gone, it would be $AUD400.00 to replace, and it was therefore beyond economical repair” as I got from some sleep deprived whitegoods repairman I went to see one day several years ago, whose email inbox was so full, messages were being returned, and who didn’t be bother to answer his text messages. Edt 08:32:44
Since it seems it’s left up to the individual finding pertinent information from user forums these days to suitably troubleshoot hassles with their hardware (while manufacturers make such hardware, very deliberately, to fail after an unrealistic short time), I’m seeking this kind of information from people such as yourselves. As I know that the likes of Fisher & Paykel have no interest in that they have made a washing machine that was never intended to last anymore than about 18 months.
Only because some small component failed.
*08:46:54. I find it ‘fascinating’ that such criminal agenda continues – and that they don’t go broke because of this. *08:47:37
I bet if some guy from Fisher & Paykel turned up, he’d have no idea as to what, specifically, had failed with the motor-controller board, and would probably replace the whole board. Edt 08:33:45
*08:33:48. Such persons just don’t give a damn, either – time is money to them – such an accursed attitude! *08:34:31
While having the gall to charge, whatever, to ‘ring the door bell’. Edt 08:35:03
My parents have a washing machine they got during 1983 that is still working. Edt 08:38:23
So I think you’d know I’m really furious about this washing machine failing – only because something small, had stopped working properly.

Hello kiwireeferman, and thanks for the reply. Is the motor controller the touch board (of buttons) with that craftily hemmed-in-underneath PCB? Edt 15:11:56
Or is it something else please?
15:09:59. I had a look at the online shop, and didn’t even see Fisher & Paykel listed. I hope the replacement component is something I’d be able to find easily. I’ve not been able to use my washing machine for months, and consider that Fisher & Paykel did not have ‘longevity’ in mind when they designed & assembled this particular product. 15:11:30, 15:12:03

Hello Jim. I read the Diagnostics section, specific to my Fischer & Paykel MW511 Pride. However, I’m not able to use any of those button combinations to any effect, because all the bloody thing does, within about 2 seconds of turning it on, is beep incessantly with lights from the left #02 & #07 flashing.
So two lights flashing like that must mean something. Would you tell what that is please?

Penguin45.
Hello Penguin – which particular sticky post do I need to look at please? I’ve had a look for one which has reference to ‘running the diagnostics’ but wasn’t able to find that. 200805130323:57:06
