Hi K and thanks for your advice.
Although I appreciate there is always a bit of the moisture coming out of the dryer, the degree to which it happened to our one was definitely in excess. In addition this strong whistling noise indicated that the air was “pushed out” with a pressure through the door. This made me think that perhaps there is a blockage somewhere and it impacts the way the air flows…

Thus I have opened the fluff filter again [after my husband checked it last weekend] and the heat exchanger looked very dirty to me. I have cleaned it with a bbq wooden stick and a hoover + washed the fluff filter and now all has been working perfect!
No whistling, no steam on the door/windows 😀
I guess the previous owners did not clean it at all…. 🙁
Anyway I think I have found a solution to the problem!
