Don and Martin,
Thank you both very much for your help on both this thread and my other one. It’s genuinely really appreciated.
This has been a steep learning curve, but I now have a bit of an appreciation of what went wrong with my old machine, and now have sufficient info to select a suitable replacement which should avoid a repeat of the same problem. What a really helpful forum!
Cheers,

Brilliant, thanks Don! 😀
The codes are all so similar, it’s a nightmare trying to work out the differences, especially when they have 3 on their website all priced at £719!

I’m trying to get my head around it, but they don’t make it easy! What a minefield. Are there any obvious differences that you can see? The codes don’t give a lot away (to my eyes) and they’re all in the current brochure as well! 😕
I see the S515T80D1G is quieter than the others, but is A+ whereas the others are A++. IT’s also quite a bit heavier for some reason. Goodness me!Many thanks for your help!

ParticipantRe: Neff Dishwasher Leak – strange place?
Many thanks for that quick response Don, much appreciated. If only I’d known about this when I bought it!
I’ve actually posted a question in the Buying Advice section, where I asked about the all-stainless tank. I wanted to be sure that this meant what it sounds like – no joint to leak.
Thanks again,

Well, I’ve taken it out and I think it looks like a write-off.
It’s clearly been weeping for some time. The actual joint itself seems to be buried behind the plastic lip. When I poke down there, it’s clear there’s a flexible seal. There’s nowhere obvious to apply any sealant though, as I can’t actually get to the joint itself.
So it looks like there’s nothing to be done.
What a poor design by Neff!
Not sure what to do for a new machine now, but it won’t have a drum with a join in it.Regards,

Hi Martin, thanks for your reply.
So it sounds as if, in effect, the “drum” is a plastic base with a stainless top glued on, and that joint has failed in one area, if I understood correctly.
Presumably then, rather than open the joint up, I need to “patch” the outside. What would you recommend I try? – silicone?, epoxy? Something else?
It sounds like ultimately it’s a temporary fix for what is a poor design.
MrsP likes her Neff appliances. I had a quick look at the latest models and see that as you move up the range, the construction changes to all-stainless (although this one wasn’t cheap if I recall). Does the all-stainless design fix this problem when it comes to a replacement? Or do these models have other inherent issues?
Thanks for your help with this, I really appreciate it.
Cheers,
