Iadom – I have taken your advice and contacted Hotpoint for an engineer visit. Hopefully they can resolve the problem and I can update the site with information to conclude the solution. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Iadom – appears to be a schoolgirl error on the posts so thank you for clearing that up.
No error codes on the display panel. It seems to be stuck somehow, the program number will not change and reverts back to program 1 every time, also if I turn off the power button then the machine goes off and comes straight back on. As you suggest hopefully someone can help. The dishwasher was expensive so would rather try and resolve the problem rather than replace it. Melissa
