ParticipantSo I can do this cleaning cycle and at the same time clean my towels with the white washing product at 90° twice a month? Just found these really good guides on the website https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/cleaning-maintenance so i’ll read them carefully! Again thanks Dave!

ParticipantI wonder why would someone wash their clothes at 90° haha
The metal feels a lot thinner than my old bosch top loader but that’s the kind of “corner cutting” I expected, apart from that it’s definitely a nice upgrade thank you for the suggestions! Would you personally run the cleaning cycle every three months as recommended or is it overkill? Also what do you think of the calgon stuff that’s recommended by Bosch is it worth it I sometimes use white vinegar? I know about cleaning the filter but I wonder what other maintenance can be done to extend it’s life as much as possible. Is there a thread on the forum about “routine maintenance”?
Thank you

ParticipantI guess it’s normal then, I think I’ve never done a 90° wash before

The old ones last longer, better for the environment etc.
What wrong with the old one?
I’m kind of ashamed to say i’ve let it get worse over the years like an old toyota you want to get rid of, I could honestly have fixed it but I did’t get to it. It used to leak a little bit from the door every time during the spin drying and it has gotten so bad the front of the machine and the door is really rusty 🙁
Last week the lcd stopped working and sometimes it just wont start. It’s also a needed upgrade because we need a bigger capacity. But you are absolutely right and I should have fixed it!

ParticipantHi Dave! On your recommendation I ended up getting the Bosch EX WAN28150FF at 430€ I looked at the schematics on the spare parts site and it looks like it’s not a sealed drum. I’m sure it wont be as reliable as my old Maxxx top loader but the change was long overdue 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to help.

ParticipantThank you Dave, what does the WAN range indicates does it have something more than the WUQ or WAB? Is there any place I can read more about this naming system or it’s more from personal experience?
Also because you seem knowledgeable on this, is there any brand you would recommend at this price point that has as good
reliability? I’m not asking for a specific model of course more like a brand recommendation.Thank you
edit:
When comparing models at this price point on the Bosch website they all seem to have slight differences in the programs available, I don’t understand why, do people really have such different needs for washing machines? The one on the far right seems to be the most “expensive” one at a starting price of 800€ it has a bigger load capacity but lacks some programs. Not sure what to think of this.

Hi iadom thank you for the advice, of course i’ve heard plenty of great things about Miele but my budget is more along the lines of 550€ I’m sure it wont be as reliable as 10 years ago, but I need to replace it and that’s what I managed to save 🙂
