ParticipantThanks for replying Dave, I think it maybe heat related as I can’t see any foam in the system when I open the door and if I don’t pause it and just open it there is clear water still coming out of the jets but the bars never rotate so I guess it’s low flow / pressure when it’s noisy.
As a test tonight I ran it for 18mins on a cold rinse and paused it a couple of times with no issues. I’m wondering if maybe heat is affecting something in the pump body rather than it being an actual motor issue, I know you can buy replacement bodies but do you know if these include the impeller? If so I might give one a go.
As you can probably guess I know very little about dishwashers but I do work with much larger motors and pumps and I’m struggling to get my head around this. Do you happen to know if the motor is speed or power controlled in any way or is it just a straight on/off at each start up?.

ParticipantFairly simple really Dave, to add or remove items mid wash 🙂
If I run the machine on the longer cycles where it does a full cold rinse then a longer hot wash it will then not restart the pump correctly for the final rinse cycle.
I’ve always been able to pause and restart the machine although it’s not something I do regularly. I referred to pausing the machine in this case as I thought it would make it easier to explain the nature of the problem. i.e I can re-create the long cycle problem by pausing.
Cheers,
