I have tested the Thermostat which shows short-circuit (about 0.3 Ohms) so I think that is fine. There is also a pressure switch in circuit. I have taken this off and when I blow into it it switches to about 0 Ohms.
So, with the water full, the Pressure Switch is 0 Ohms, the Thermostat is 0 Ohms and the heater is 28 Ohms – seems to me that the relay has failed, or the control circuit feeding the relay has gone, which both point to a failed control board.
As regards whether it is worth replacing, then I will have to consider that one. If I purchase a new machine, then unless its a Miele or something of similar cost, then the components seem to be of similar quality to those in the machine I already have, or have I missed something?
