Hi Martin please accept my deepest apologies for being so bloody minded regarding the Washer Motor. You were correct the motor has indeed Carbon Brushes fitted, commutator and brushes don’t look that good, so I will change them and clean up the commutator. Information I had gained from the net indicated that a Brushless
motor was fitted to this model. I was truely wrong so please accept my appologies. Do hope we can continue to correspond and that I haven’t wronged you.Kind regards,

Hi this is a follow up in depth query to enable diagnostic testing of my WMH 147DF/80-2 washing machine as described in error code test routine.
Hoover Optima Washing Machine Range Diagnostic Routine
1.Push and hold the FIRST Option Button with LED top right..
2.Turn the Program’s Selector Knob 2 steps in clockwise sense..
3.After about 5 seconds, release the FIRST Option Button with LED to the left
4.If the previous procedure was correctly carried out, all LED’s are turned ON
simultaneously.
5.Test Sequence.
My interpretation of this Routine in colaboration with the attached picture.
1. Close washer door. Push & hold FIRST option button with LED top right
( Presumably COLD WASH button upper right on picture ? )
2. Turn program selector two positions clockwise.
( Presumably selector is in the off position as shown on picture then rotated two positions to the right ? )
3. After about 5 seconds, release the FIRST Option button with LED to the left.
( CONFUSSION DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS PROCEDURE ?? )
4. If the previous procedure was correctly carried out all LED’s are turned ON
simultaneosly.
5. Test Sequence.
( How do you commence the TEST SEQUENCE )However I have arrived at the point where all the LED’s are on but how do you
commence the test sequence ????????

Hi I have tried to run the Hoover Optima Washing Machine Range Diagnostic Routine in order to run a test sequence in order to produce a Error Code, although following the guide I cannot achieve this Test Sequence, is there any help out there.

I don’t think the motor has carbon brushes, further clue is that no error codes are displayed. Is there a procedure for locating a error code which might help me solve the problem.
