Re: Zanussi TC481W Door catch broken

    Thank you Penguin45
At present the “jamming door shut” proceedure is working OK.
If I have a go at replacing the mechanism how complicated is it?
At first glance it looks rather difficult as there is no obvious front panel to remove for a simple replacement.

(My wife is in danger of thinking of machine replacement as it is now 8 years old and has given very good service)

    Brian,
    Thanks for all your replies.
    Will talk on Monday.

(I think I still prefer the old style MK1 indicating system – why do they have to change these things!)

Re: Samsung Wine Refigerator RW13EBSS temperature ind proble

    Thanks again Brian,
I still feel there is a problem with the temp indicating system as it varies between 13oc and 10oc with no obvious connection to the compressor going on and off.
In spite of the above the temperature inside is always nice and constant at 15oc (slightly above the specification but I have no real problem with this) so why doesn’t the indicator stay constant?

    Thanks Bryan,
The cooler is set to the red wine setting (13oc) as on startup.
I have mercury type max/min thermometer inside giving an unchaged temperature of 15.5oc.
The older one I have remains with the red wine setting (13oc) and 13oc all the time inside with no change in the indications on the front.

    Thanks for the suggestion.
I have talked to Samsung. They took the frig away and returned it with the same fault (I am not sure what they did as they didn’t say).
It is difficult to explain to them as the fault only occurs every 25mins or so. I have now taken photos with (the times indicated) to help clarify the problem.
