Thank you for your reply. I am sure the compressor is cycling with the stat as it can keep a constant temp of 5/6 °C with the stat at min and I haven’t heard the compressor switch off at all when it cools to 2 °C.
I had heard of the poor ventilation you mentioned and as a result of this; I have fitted two 90 mm fans on the floor under the fridge to aid circulation. It certainly blows out heat from the gap under the worktop.
