ParticipantThanks. I’ll wait & see if it becomes more of a problem than just shutting the door firmly.

UPDATE – I was about to disconnect everything last night when I had one last go at starting the dishwasher – and it worked!
Bit embarrasing really… It seems the problem is with the lock on the door not working properly. If I close the door and then give it a firm push by the handle, the catch engages and wash programme starts.
Therefore I’ll probably keep the machine as it operates fine. Can the door lock be fixed quite easily?
Thanks.

Oh dear! To be honest, I’ve not got a preferenece for any brand & don’t have a problem with Indesit. I suspect my second hand dishwasher suffered from sitting in a garage for 3 months unused.
It hasn’t cost me anything though, so I won’t complain.

Thanks very much for your help.
As I expected, its not an economical repair. I’ve seen a Hotpoint FDW60P in my local Costco for £200 which does a half load (keeps Mrs MJ happy) so I’ll get the money back on this Indesit and buy a new machine.

Thank you for your help.
At the end of the last successful wash, the light second from the left was flashing continuously.
However, none of the lights flash now, regardless of the setting it is on.
If I turn the dial on to any programme, the machine beeps once and the correct programme light is displayed – but nothing else happens.
If I turn the dial back to reset, I get four beeps – no flashing lights.
