Re: Bosch WFO2464GB – Will not spin

I have spent the morning taking out the motor again , using wet & dry to aid the slide in holders , & match the bevel to the old brushes.

I reseated the brushes using the advice re “longest edge on the connector side”.

After reassembly I tested spin only on all 4 spins , worked perfectly.

The machine is now back in situ with wife doing a full wash cycle. ( it has built up) seems to be working fine although I will still be a bit nervous as it approaches spin.

But I think we are sorted. Many thanks for all the advice and patience.
I am proud of us all.

Thanks again, without you it would be new machine time.

Just reread my last post. I meant to say that ” I AM confident enough to try again “.
My typo would have completly changed the sense and tone of my post.

Sorry , and thanks for bearing with me.

Re: Bosch WFO2464GB – Will not spin

Thanks for all the help last night.
Following the guidance I was this morning easily able to remove the motor and fit the second brush. & reassemble.

Everything seemed to have gone very smoothly

except , to my horror it has made no difference to fact that machine still refuses to spin. I have tested on a full cycle and spin only. It seems exactly the same as when I set out in that it works perfectly in all other respects but will not spin. No noise as if it were trying to spin.
Time remaining indicator usually skips straight from say 11mins to 1 min before shutting down normally.

Could I have replaced brushes wrong edge way around. Is this critical ?
Would m/c still work to the extent that it does if I had got this wrong?

If this is likely issue I am not confident enough about motor removal ect to try again.

I have read something about brushes “needing to bed down”. Is it worth be being patient.

    Thanks

Re: Bosch WFO2464GB – Will not spin

Thanks , that is helpful, if puzzleing as i have definitly been looking at another 2 securing ( or supporting) points. But they are different to those headed bolts I have removed so they are probably different in nature.

    I will continue tomorrow.

    Thanks

Re: Bosch WFO2464GB – Will not spin

    Thanks for that.

Actually as I was already into trying to replace bushes when I saw your reply.

I got stuck taking out the Motor. The top two securing points (screw bolts) came out ok . However the bottom two securing points are different I am not clear whether they are unidentified heads ( I have a good range but none are effective) or are bushes that will tap out. One head is plastic or plastic covered they other is metal.

So I have attempted the brush change with the motor in situ.

Of course the visable brush was fairly easy. So I know how it goes.
However the other side is hidden and I have to do it blind.

I have looked at the “Penguin 45” video where he is doing this with motor removed. Even he has to fiddle about a bit so its not suprising I am having a problem try to do it blind.

Now with the fiddleing the clip has brken frm the connecting wire. I will have to try to solder this ( presumably that should be ok ? ) before returning to the puzzle tomorrow.
By the way, the old brushes were well word so fairly sure that this was the problem (before I drained the alligator swamp).

Nay comments / suggestions gratefully received.
    Thanks again

    Richard
