    Heard from repair company
    They found a fault on the board and have repaired it.
    Will post details if I can see what they’ve done
    when I get it back.

    In the past Hotpoint used a fast blow fuse to protect the electronics, I repaired a motor on one only last week, the motor armature had gone down. It took out the glass fuse but the electronics were untouched,

    Thought it would be a good idea to retrofit a fuse.Can you remember where it was fitted and the amperage.Thanks.

    I’ve sent the board to be checked and hopefully repaired
    The fact that if you just select a program but not start the machine and it still cuts out
    Makes me think it must be a compoment breaking down
    maybe the transistor on the heatsink
