It works!
Just to let you know that the fault was actually a dodgy plug point. £80 of spares purchased and it wasn’t even the machine that was faulty!
Oh well- a lesson learned. Thanks for all your help and a great forum

I’ve stripped down the door stuff now but still no joy. I get the feeling that the dryer is running hotter than it should do and that a thermostat is cutting it out.
Once the dryer has cooled own (about a minute) it will start again before again cutting out.(Thanks for all the suggestions so far)

Guess what….. replaced the timer and its still cutting out after a minute or so! It seems to be heating up ok runs for a few minutes (on either gentle or high heat) and the stats, relay and timer have all been now been replaced. Any further suggestions very welcome!
PS anyone want to but a spare timer, relay, thermostats!Mr_Silverback

Thanks guys- tested the door stat and wiring and it seemed it certainly seemed ok. Guess I’d better order timer number 3!

Thanks Jim. Had the timer out but I’m not quite sure what terminals/wire colours relate to the element circuits. Are you able to advise?
