    Re: Indesit WE 16 UK

Hi guys, thanks for your help.

I went out and tried to find a new brush, but only one shop had something close, and it was for a C.E.Set? motor that goes on Indesits..
The packaging was exactly the same, The metal guide inside the pad looked the same, travel length and everything else all look’ed the same…

So I figgured I would give it a go :/..

Anyhow, The washing machine is now going just fine, I hope the part wont cause any harm :/

The replacement picture on the web from UKWG shows a different plastic housing than the one mine has too.. I have order’d a few times from UKWG but I needed a quick fix “Sorry guys” …

I sitll find it odd that the machine wouldnt operate (or at least flag an error) when that pad was worn down!..

I get 30.1 ohm on the heater, a lot higher than 20 but I would still guess it’s in a normal range given what it is?..

The brushes are indeed worn, I wouldnt have expected it to drop off so suddenly however..

I can see the metallic strip in the middle, but one brush is quite dirty on the tip, the other one is fairly clean with stripes of the carbon (it is a carbon clay mix isnt it?).

Whent these brushes go (and I really cant understand why it would cause the unit to act like it does) does it run the risk of killing the operation of the board?

seems to be for the Indesco motors, but it doesnt list my washing machine model, guess I will email.

    Thanks.
I guess I’ll tear it down and see if they are worn out, It seemed to be running fine, no noise or sign of sparks :/..

I also wouldnt have expected the program to just stall if it was not requiring the motor /Edit/ Not doubting your word, just thinking of poor design /Edit/

Should I be able to remove the motor completly, and the machine still pump dry?

I cant see there being a problem with it hurting the PCB to have no load, just not sure if the PCB would sense that the motor isnt there and refuse to operate. I havent tried this as I dont want the pcb to damage itself (unlikely I know, but wanted to ask)

(I have wired plenty of motors, not repaired many, but I could replace the brushes), Just hate to start spending money on something that might not be bad ;).
