In case someone else is following this thread and wants to buy the above non-return flap (valve) it is called – Flap for Set Sump. Part numbers C00257097 / J00227710 . just check it’s the right one for your washer.

Ive got one on order so I haven’t attempted to replace it yet – but hopefully it will work. I will report back if successful
