ParticipantThanks very much Dave, you were absolutely right!
All 4 oven elements were bad,
while I was at it I checked all the hob elements, lamps and fans which were good.nduru
ParticipantThanks for responding Dave, I went through it again.
The cooker had been working fine before it tripped the first time, which was while using the hob.
I ran some tests to see if I could isolate the problem.
1. It was independent of how long the cooker itself had been switched on before the test
2. It tripped 8 minutes from any individual ring being switched on
3. It tripped immediately if either oven was switched on
4. It was unrelated to how hot the hob was from previous tests
so it appears to be
1. independent of any particular hob or oven element
2. related to something that the cooker logic does after 8 minutes of using the hob or immediately after starting either ovenThe cooling fan seemed to be a contender.
This cooker’s cooling fan is under the hob, on top of the ovens, and I used to hear this come on after using the hob for a bit (maybe 8 minutes).
I tried disconnecting the cooling fan, but it still tripped after 8 minutes of hob use (note: the fan was 160R across inputs and >1M input to ground). Can the controller board fail to cause it to trip?
