Hi folks
We have just had the problem fixed. It was indeed the thermistor (part no 2601683). The man was here about 1.5 hours. He defrosted it with a hairdryer first then replaced the part. The total bill was £75.00 (no breakdown on the invoice so don’t know labour charge etc) Does this sound like a reasonable price? Just for future ref really

Where is a good place to buy mail order parts online – my husband will probably want to try fitting it himself before paying an engineer 🙄

Have found the model no – it’s R134A. The temp on the freezer has now risen to -17!! What is the safe range?

I have provisionally booked an engineer for Friday morning. I live in Peterborough. He is SJ Refrigeration and has ad in yellow pages and on yell.com. Anyone know if he is any good or can recommend anyone – I don’t want this to cost a bomb!!!
