It is not just sourcing the profile to which I have done and the cost is expensive per metre when I only buy 20-30 metres compared to companies purchasing 500-2000 the price reduces. Then there is the time that it takes to physically make them as the cost of having them made in a factory is not viable. Then there is the customers who do not return the old metal clips which mean that the option to make them in a batch ends.
Then there is my time that I spend tracing parts and paying money out so that Mercury customers can keep their cooker.
I can show a few manufacturers who charge more for there bulk purchased seals.
If you can find a supplier then you have the option to purchase there. to which I have searched the UK for a supplier previously.

Have a look at this Miele on eBay item : 361835943532 £152
    baumatic: 251592320327 £27
    whirlpool : 481946818109 £42

But as you feel that its right for you then there will be no seal available to you.

    Hi Bryan,

I understand, but you can’t blame me for trying to find a cheaper alternative before paying £96 for an oven door seal…

If anyone has had any luck doing this themselves, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

Bryan’s asking for £80+VAT for these, assuming you send in your old seal (presumably for recycling). Seems very steep to me, but then he may be the only person on the planet who is able to supply them!

Before I take the plunge, has anyone worked out whether it’s possible to recycle the old seals (perhaps by removing the metal corner clips and inserting them into a universal seal)?

This seal doesn’t look suitable, because the Mercury has a lip that goes around the outside of the oven that will require the seal to have a slight indent to slide onto the lip.
