Udate to my LG washer story,
Friday evening took it apart to try to find any fault,
Checked heater eliment, that was fine, checked cable from mains for short,
all o.k and to the power board all o.k.
Found the door lock switch connector showed sign of heat on one terminal,
and the same on the switch itself on the same terminal.
Traced all the wires with a meter, the terminal that shows heat mark goes
to the power board at the bottom of the machine.
So cleaned the connector terminal and door switch was dismantaled and teminal cleaned of black and re-assembled.
I was lucky to have a spare power board from the first part of my story,
so i put that back and removed the old board.
So but it all back together and power on, that was fine, selected 30min wash, push play and it works 😆
Did two wash loads and all went o.k., but still not convinced yet, to early to tell.
Just one other thing I found, the rubber pipe from the recirculation pump to the jet in the top of the drum had collapsed causing it to very restrict the water flow, this pipe should have been made with a moulded bend in it, as it can bend to the left and cut the water, I cut a bit off and its working fine.
So is there a fault with the doorlock switch??? can water fall on it from the soap tray above?? i would like to know how it got burnt.norad97

Hi, Thanks for reply,
Is it common for the door lock to cause this fault???
When I took the machine apart I did notice some black colouring on
the white connector, not all over it just at one point.
Its odd as the fault can be very random when its working, can run for a week and then blow the PCB fuse randomly??
Is there a way of testing the door lock with a meter??I am now at a loss with this, I dont want to keep throwing money at it,
but I would like to fix it for my self satisfaction. 😥norad97

Hi, I did know a few years ago how to put my machine in selftest mode
but I cannot remember.
I would like to run this after I replace the pumps.
Also any link to repair manual would help.norad97

Hi,
Yes I cleaned out all pipes connected to the recirculation side
including the spray jets in the drum that the pipe connects to.
But im thinking the pump has been damaged so I am going to order
2 new pumps and changed them as not expensive to buy.
I am now very experienced in dismantaling LG washers 😆
Tell you one thing, will never buy another LG washer, funny I had a
Zannusi for ten years on had minor problems with it.
If the pumps dont cure it, then its going to get scrapped !! 😆 -
