Hi Dave

I’ve been looking on the upper ‘user control’ PCB housing (in top of door) and haven’t found an ‘NTC’ mark. However you said the ‘NTC’ might be marked on the ‘timer’ rather than the PCB, so I suspect I’m looking in the wrong place?.
Where is the ‘timer’ you mentioned? I can’t find one referenced anywhere in the various ADG 957 Service Manuals (which I also found online last night!)

I suspect I’m now reaching the limit of my ‘ability’ (I use the term loosely!), and don’t want to waste your time any more.
As a last chance I am contemplating sending the upper board to a diagnostics firm in Workington (used them once before – was ok!), and if that fails, them probably going to have to admit defeat and buy new……Bah humbug!

I didn’t know that !! – sounds like a great idea which will confirm the integrity of the NTC wire along its full length…..I will seek it out in the morning and test it out.

Hello again,

I have dismantled the dishwasher and tested the resistance of the NTC sensor with a multimeter and bowl of hot water. I couldn’t find a fault (resistance was ~66K Ohms @ 20C – room temp – and reduced to ~10KOhms when plunged into hot water).
The wires in the shroud running down the front of the door all appear intact as they disappear under the door and the shroud is in good condition. Therefore without removing each wire in the shroud and testing it individually (a big job I think) I guess it means one of the two control units (top of door and under front base panel) is faulty – would you agree, and if so, which of these units is likely to be the culprit so I can pick one to send away to get repaired?
Is there anything else I could check before doing this?

Your thoughts would be gratefully appreciated.

Fantastic – you’ve been such a help!
I’ll see if I can still buy one before ripping it apart, as it is a few years old now…..

I can see what you mean….my symptoms do seem to correlate with NTC Break F1 on your chart…

Sorry to sound brainless, but where is the NTC sensor? I’m assuming its underneath somewhere? If there is a diagram somewhere (I’ve looked and failed to find one so far) I should be able to work from there as I’m (reasonably) competent (???) once I know where to look!…..
If you have a diagram of our machine somewhere or a link, that would be a huge help.

Hi Dave

Thank you for your help – its very much appreciated as I’m lost for ideas or where to start….!
Our model has the following numbers on the side of the door:
8542 957 15410 SER: 33 0203 000736

It has a PCB in the plastic casing at the top of the door and a wiring loom running down the front in a plastic sheath and under the door.
I haven’t dismantled any further so don’t know if there is another PCB under the machine.

Its quite old so doesn’t have a screen to indicate a fault code eg F4 or E4, only the lights/buttons on the top of the door.

If it helps at all, after I ran the 20min diagnostic test, it bleeped continually and quickly (more than 1/sec) and flashed the 4th light (65 degree wash).

Any suggestions gratefully received.
