I am an engineer myself electronics and i enjoy a challenge.,

Thanks Mr Freeze thats the info i needed and the in depth reply.
You are actually entirely correct i did defrost it with the freezer door closed – stupid me and im on the dole so i need to save money and cant really afford to buy a new one after the thousands i have laid out in leccie and fixing my car this month so needs must,

I’m gonna do a youtube video on it!
I usually fix computer and plasma tellys etc so this should be a breeze if its just down to cutting insulation out i have a full workshop with all the gear so shouldnt be a problem and besides i love ripping things apart to find out how they work – always have done – its how i learned to be so good at repairing almost everyting from plumbing to car mechanics and I havent had to call an engineer or repair man , plumber out in 30 years – thanks to my good old dad who also did everything himself! Watched the apprentice the other night – amazing how guys these days didnt even know a screw from a nail – i think thats what Kwatt may be referring to he is probably right most men these days wouldnt know a marine ply from chipboard! lol

Thanks both for the replies I had thought no one was gonna give me some info!

Hmmm no replies , i thought i provided plenty of info as well – obviously too difficult a problem to fix so might be a new fridge freezer then!

Had a chat with an engineer online over on fixit.com and he reckons its the overflow pipe filled with water for anyone else that has this problem – we shall see tomorrow when i take the thing out of its cupboard.

    Re: Beko Parts

I wouldnt bother they cost a fortune £30 for a plastic panel no thanks.
I would try for second hand spares on Gumtree or Preloved or Freecycle.
People often try and offload whole freezers that arent working so you could offer a £5 for the front panels.
Wish I had kept my old freezer and sold all the parts after looking on here as my compressor and everything else was perfect but my girlfriend holed the fridge with a knife trying to get the ice out lol Typical problem with freezers and women lol

Is it possible to refill with one of the units you can use to refill a cars AC system or is it specifically Freon you need to use.

In that case is there any wy an ordinary user can do it themselves?

    Something like this:-
