Re: Bosch SGS3042GB/03 – timer sticking

I have to thank you, you are certainly worth buying a few beers for!

The past week my old Bosch SGS3042GB/03 had been playing up. I could not definitely say the arms were rotating or not, but was not convinced. I was starting to look at buying a circulation pump at around £160, but as this machine was bought from a friend 3 years ago (and not knowing how old it is) I was probably going to buy another (cheaper) machine. During the week I had cleaned everything that I could easily take off (but I could not check the pump electrically).

Having Googled the problem I came across this thread. It saved me soo much time by not stripping the whole machine as you have done. I went straight to that pipe after turning the machine on to its back…it was blocked solid. I cleaned it out and replaced it. Chucked a descaler in to the machine earlier today and my first load after is all shiny and clean 😀

Having seen your diagrams and having now fixed my own I am confident that in the coming few weeks I can service it properly; strip it down and clean it thoroughly. I will also replace the detergent tray as that does not stay closed anymore.

    Again, many thanks.
