When you mentioned ducted air I thought ‘now where does that come from?’…there is a sloping channel at the back of the fridge compartment with, what looks like, a hole (or it could have been a bung)…seeing as i didn’t think i had much to lose, i cleared there hole from what appeared to be food debris. The hole is now totally clear. I went out today and on return noted there is no water build up in the sloping channel, as before. The lower back wall is still warm though and I cannot detect a cool airflow from the freezer. I will check it doesn’t have a build up of ice and report back tomorrow.

yes the freezer compartment is fine and the fan runs when the thermostat is adjusted.
