As I said, I actually had an opinion and backed it with my money. You are still busy waffling. Your problem, not mine.

Thanks for your input. Given that you are unable to differentiate between two Mieles in your original post, perhaps you’d like to expand on your extensive knowledge of domestic appliances to justify your comments? Obviously, the combined knowledge of the repairers who actually run this site for the benefit of the public (for free, I might add) is completely lost on you, but if you know something we don’t, we will happily acknowledge it.

Otherwise, you’re trolling and we don’t like that.

    Penguin45.
I am telling you what I have just myself done in a similar situation based on the information and references I was able to find. It isnt random advice I gave you- I just recently paid my cold hard cash for the appliance, based on that assesment.

If providing you with that input is “trolling” , then God bless and good luck to you.

Moreover, if you actually read my other post I ran through my assesment of how two Miele machines differed as best I could tell and asked if there was something ELSE I didnt know. In other words, unlike you, I wasnt waffling over what brand to buy, I was trying to decide which model from a specific manufactuerer to buy. But hey, keep chasing ghosts, “trolls” or whatver. Good luck spending your money. You will need it.

I would go with the Miele. All these theoreticals dont mean much if the machine does what it is built to do ie. keep working every day and doesnt break down in the first place.

I’d rather have a washing machine that costs more in the beginning but keeps working and rarely breaks, than one that breaks down more often and is “cheap” to fix. How “cheap” is it to have a washing machine that isnt working? And how “cheap” is it to be waiting at home for a repairman all the time, during which you have to take time off from your job making money?

So “cheap” repairs are a false economy. Get a machine that is designed to last and not keep breaking down in the first place.

The Mieles have a solid track record – and I cannot recall anyone I know with one who has regretted it or had meaningful repair problems, for that matter. Which is why I am getting one as we speak.

Regarding the Bosch, some family friend of ours have one and after a mere couple of years is very regretful as it is quite unreliable. They are going to get the Miele, which they had considered before – except in the time in between they have wasted money buying a Bosch.

Siemens and Bosch are just different brand labels of same product by the same company, probably coming from the same assembly line in same factory. So I wouldnt expect any more from one than the other.

Have you asked – or checked – on whether Asko washing machines are availale here in Norway. Or if any which ones? Or their pricing? Or the relative costs of parts and labor for the various machines

We all have opinions, but its best to just stick to the question people ask, in this case a simple comparison of two model series, instead of inserting other agendae – sometimes they are actually not helpful. Maybe the person who made a simple question was keeping it simple for a reason.

1734 isn’t on the Miele site anymore, so presumably on run out.

From the model number I would guess that Osamede is on mainland Europe as the model quoted is available in Germany and Spain among others. The nearest UK version would be the W1714. Or I could be totally wrong
You are correct, thanks. I am in Norway. The 1734 is similar to to the 1714, which we also have available here. i think the only difference is that the 1734 has the delayed start timer.

Any more answers to the question will be very helpful. Plugs for ISE machines are not – wasnt the question I asked and I cant buy them here anyway.
