Re: Further Info on ff92s overheat

I am really interested in this thread which I found when trying to find my thread #118124 on the same subject. I too have an intermittent freezer fan problem. After checking both thermistors in the freezer were OK I have just fitted a new PCB but I cant believe it but the fan is still intermittent. After closing the door it comes on for about 1 minute then off for a few seconds then on for 30 seconds, then on/off a few more times at random and stops altogether until the door is opened and closed and starts the game again. I have not quite understood wozzers fix – are you saying it was the fan motor faulty and drawing too much current due to some mechanical problem?
However in my case I have found that after disconnecting the fan from the pcb (top white wire on R side) and watching a voltmeter it does the exactly the same on/off switching while drawing no current. It does appear to be some sort of thermal overload but what else could be causing it if not the fan motor. I have not checked the fridge compartment thermistors or the rectangular thermal fuses in the freezer.
The baffle is working fine because I have been running the fridge OK since Christmas with the fan permanently wired on but no defrost.
I too am ready to heave the thing out of the window unless someone help!
I will phone anyone back if you can call me 01481 247480(w) 249946(h)
