Wytze, and everyone else on this thread…
Well, I’ve finally changed the bearings on my WMA44 and believe me, it’s not easy! But I did it and the machine is back in and working a treat.
If anyone wants to know specifically how to do this, drop me a line.
Bascially, the whole drum unit needs to come out, then split the drum casing, then get the 2 bearings out and the seal (was relatively easy on my machine, but can be a right B!), then replace the casing seal, put the thing back together and put the drum back on the machine.
If you want detailed information for this type of machine, email me.Oz

Thanks for that.
Who is the “we” that will provide the bearing kit?
I’ve found a website that supply all these parts and they have a Hotpoint Bearing/Seal kit for £25.Oz

So, is the general concensus that this is not a job to be attempted?
What are my options? If I call an engineer out, what will it cost me?
Can I get the spare parts/kit directly from Hotpoint?Sorry for all the questions, but I would rather exhaust all my options rather than just go out and buy a new one, which should NOT be Hotpoint from some of the posts I’ve seen on this board!
