    Hi Peter,
Regretfully I didn’t and despite Dave’s help I couldn’t find an aftermarket substitute so I gave up, swearing I’d never buy another Britannia branded cooker again. At the end of the day I only ever used to use the timer so it was no great practical loss. I just don’t like having things that don’t work especially things that cost a ridiculous amount of money in the first place such as this cooker. What really annoys me is that I bought all the extras to go with it thinking I was buying a quality product which would last a life time. How wrong I was! In the immortal words of the song – I won’t get fooled again!
Good luck with finding a realistically priced fix and if you do find one please let me know.

    Hi Dave,

Again, many thanks for the reply. I’ve looked on the shop site but can’t see the timer you’re talking about. Would you please post a link.

BTW, thanks for the engineers. I’ll bear Appliance Force in mind as they seem pretty close.

    Hi Dave,

Many thanks for the reply. The oven works fine without the timer. In fact I don’t think I ever used the timer function but I did use the countdown timer. As I say, I’m only enquiring as to whether there was an economical way of repairing/replacing the timer unit as I don’t like things that don’t work and it annoys me everytime I look at it when I think how much I paid for what I assumed was a top quality British brand when in fact it’s just fancy overpriced Italian rubbish which comes with call out and parts charges that border on extortion. Nevertheless, what’s done is done but I have vowed that if anything goes wrong with it that I can’t fix myself for a reasonable cost and is going to require a Britannia engineer then it’s going to the tip.
But I am interested if there is a timer that will fit. Bear in mind that the hole in the fascia for the timer is oval not rectangular.

    Best Regards

    Paul.
