I have now gone to my local spares shop and bought an authentic hotpoint thermostat, and have now fitted it.
However, the fridge doesn’t seem to get as cold as it used to. Now it might be me, but if I turn up the thermostat I don’t get a click straight away, but a few minutes later the fridge will click on. When I fist installed it I turned the thermostat on and the fridge clicked into life. The compressor does come on occassionaly. Today I will get a thermometer to check the temp. I used to have the thermostat set to 2 and everything was cold, at the moment I have this set to 4.

I now have the thermostat in my hand. I have connected the two live wires (as advised by an engineer that came through today) and the compressor started working fine. I am still none the wiser on the model of the larder fridge.
The numbers on the thermostat are H2722 3ART6VAA7 6(6)A 250V 9641 C.S. E6525 KEMA EUR AND THEN A LOAD OF LETTERS IN DIF PLACES

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint TDL34 Reverse Action Dryer – NOT REVERSING
Well guess what winter is here, temperature has sunk…and the tumble dryer which has been working fine since March has stopped reversing again.
Well, I have bought the reverse timer as suggested. No sooner did I do this when a similar tumble dryer with same reversing unit came up on freecycle which sums up my luck!!!!
The new unit is different shape, and has one less cable attachment. After a fair bit of modification (drilling, getting new blades for cables) I finally have it done. It is now all put back together.
Anyone else wanting to do this be warned….you will need to make some slight modifications. The two blue cables (neutral) need to be made so that they go into a single female slide on connector. You will also need a couple of thin, nuts a bolts…similar in size to the ones that go in to you light switch to hold it in place. If you are careful enough there is enough neutral cable. A bit tight) You will also need a couple of cable ties. And a drill a bit to make a couple of holes for the bolts that hold the timer in place, and a bigger bit which allows the protrusion from the time to come through the front. One female cable slide connector.
It isn’t hard…you just need to have the stuff first and have patience.
Thanks
everyone.February 10, 2010 at 4:55 am in reply to: Hotpoint TDL34 Reverse Action Dryer – NOT REVERSING #311520pacuk01

I did post this back in 2008 but I searched websites for the info but couldn’t find the site. I didn’t fix it then as it started working again and has done near enough every time since, it is stored in an outhouse, which does get cold, and it always seems when we get cold weather this is the odd few times it decides to stop working.

Alas, no start button. This machine has two buttons, one is hi/lo heat and the other is the alarm button, it has two knobs, onee is timer delay, and the other is the legnth of time to tumble knob. I am not even sure if it gets as hot as it used to. I just assumed it was taking longer to dry as the reverse cycle was not working and it is just sat there doing nothing for 5 mins or so
