The water dispenser and lights are still pulsating when using it and the ice dispenser is just not working at all, worst of all the original problem has resurfaced, (ice making motor constantly on, freezer alarm going off and returning the symbols “- -” and seems like the motor is constantly running. The freezer is freezing due to it running constantly but as mentioned before keeps triggering the alarm when any figure (-18 ) is set on the LED display. Is it getting to the time I have to spend an extortionate ammount of money for repairs???Re: Whirlpool American Fridge Freezer broken down – help!

My model was bought in July 2003 and within 6 months needed a new PCB board (behind the display in the freezer door) If I had seen all these problems I would have taken out the 8 year warrenty, seems like its needed.
Although I have put up with the clicking and flashing LED when using the water or ice maker for more than 2 years a more serious fault has developed.
Unfortunately one of the kids left the door ajar, but not enough to trigger the door open alarm, after a rise in the freezer temperature the alarm did trigger and the 2 – – appeared in the display, I have tried FF but after a while the alarm goes off and the – – appear again, leaving it to its own devices and freeze naturally doesnt work the 2 – – are always there and you cannot delete the warning triangle symbol. Although it doesnt seem to be defrosting it isnt freezing as it should. Reading others I’m assuming that it is a PCB boards problem if so where can i purchase the replacements? (I live in Manchester) Is it a job for a novice to do? and where do i locate the rear PCB board? – if needed –
