Does the heater come on before the pump empties the cold rinse water?

Ok, I’ve started a cycle.
The machine completed the first phase, the cold rinse, and then blew and didn’t empty any water.
When the pump started?paul243

It didn’t only trip but stopped with a loud report.
Will it not cause further damage if I repeat it?paul243
ParticipantRe: Hotpoint df61 dishwasher "bang"
I restored mains and the machine comes on without tripping.
I switched on and the machine fills but I’ve switched it off before it “blew” again!
I think it had started to rinse when it tripped the first time.
Time to call a pro!
Thanks againpaul243
