Hi, Bryan,
The information was passed on to the Swan engineer by the call centre.
But you’ve answered the question I asked with regard to it being the same type, IE, “wet wall”, which I appreciate. So it does sound like I went through all that nonsense for nothing.
I know nothing about Beko to be honest, so I’m glad to hear you say that it’s the better choice at the end of the day.
Thank you so much for your time and replies, very much appreciated.
Pauline.

Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for the swift and informative replies.
Judging by Mike and Bryan’s replies I assume a pic of the ice formation won’t be needed – though I do have them if required. The ice does form where Mike says, on the back panel. And, as Bryan says, defrosts and runs down into the channel at the bottom. It is continual, however, which seems odd to me, but judging by the replies it is normal.
Now, this brings up another question. The previous frost free fridge freezers were both Swan, Model no: SR7019. As I previously stated, the engineer said right off the bat this was a fault without even seeing it. So was he wrong? Is the Swan model the same as the Beko as far as the frost build-up goes? If so, I’ve forked out an extra £100 for another freezer; lost quite a bit of food; and the damage I mentioned previously. So I’m wondering if I went through this expense and stress for no reason. Don’t get me wrong, I am relieved that I now know, thanks to you, that what is happening is normal and the freezer is working fine, but I am still interested to know if the Swan engineer was wrong.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply and put my mind at ease. I’m so glad I found your site. Keep up the good work, it’s appreciated.
Pauline.
