Thanks for all your good advice. i took the back off and there was some water in there. dried off all the water and she lives again!! Hopefully this has now solved the issue but if it does re-occur I will have to find out why there was water ingress in the first place.once again thanks for your advice it is much appreciated.

sorry for the delayed response but thanks for the advice guys. i`ll check for some water ingress and i`ll try and find the element. Either way I think it`s a case of taking the casing off and having a little dig around. i`ll update with my findings, but if anybody could tell me where to find the element that would be helpfull. Apologies to any engineers out there who are currently throwing their spanners at the screen.
