    Re: Belling IDW603, Salt stains

On mine the two are combined in one unit and it’s quite easy to change it. I removed mine to gain better access to the heater.

    Re: Belling IDW603, Salt stains

I’m no expert on this but recently I had to fit a new heater to my dishwasher. When it was upsidedown I noticed the salt container has another container fixed to it with a brown substance inside. I was curious as to what this was (it looked like it needed cleaning out) so I asked the guy in the shop where I bought my heater from and it turns out they’re crystals which react with the salt to soften the water. He said they usually last for 7 years or so and then need to be replaced but obviously that depends upon how much use it gets. How old is your dishwasher? I have no idea if this is your problem but given everything you’ve alreday done it’s a thought.

Re: Hotpoint BFI 620 flashing light fault code

    Okay thanks 😀

Update :- Yes lights 2 and 4 flashing was the heater. Bought one locally for £39 (probably a bit expensive but I needed it straight away as I don’t ‘do’ washing up).

For future reference, does anybody know where I can get a complete list of the flashing light fault codes from for this model?

    Regards, Paul.
